50-Day New Testament Adventure

Dear Living Well Family,

First of all, let me say HAPPY EASTER! What a blessing it is to live in Christ’s kingdom! Especially now, when things are uncertain and anxieties rise, we realize that while things are not yet as they will be, we can still celebrate with confidence that Jesus Christ is Lord!

I am also writing to make sure you are aware of what TLW will be up to in our worship and discipleship focus for the next 7 weeks.  We are kicking off a new project called

We want to read the entire New Testament together as a community between Easter and Pentecost; we want to pray and listen and learn from what the Holy Spirit has to teach us; and we want to share our questions, observations and insights with each other. After all, that’s our thing right, Share the Life. We’re hoping this “adventure” will help us do that.

  • Read – This letter contains a special bookmark for you with a reading schedule for the Adventure. Simply follow along. If you miss a day, catch up the next. Sundays are not reading days, so that helps keep us on schedule as well. If you ever feel like you can’t catch up, just skip ahead to where we are at that time. Keep reading!
  • Learn – The reason to read isn’t simply to get it done or to gain more information, it’s to listen and learn what God wants to say to us through His word. So, begin each day with a prayer (as simple as “Lord, help me to listen and apply your word today), read the passage and ask yourself the questions on the bookmark: What does it say? What does it mean? What does it matter? You even journal about it!
  • Share – Whenever you have an insight, or prayer, or especially a question that the reading inspires send me a note at adventure@thelivingwellkzoo.org. On Sunday mornings I will address your questions and share your insights as time allows. That way we can really Share the Life!

Finally, thank you for the way you are staying connected to Christ and to each other during this difficult time. As always, TLW is blessed by you being here for us, and we promise to continue to be here for you. I am looking forward to our BIG ADVENTURE!

Pastor Philip
